Making sense of home electrification together!
Little intro in here. Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.

Why household electrification is important
- 40% of Victorian households currently have all
gas, or mostly gas appliances. The most
common are gas cook tops, hot water systems
and heating. - All-electric homes can lower household energy
bills significantly. - Electric homes are cheaper to run, healthier to
live in and better for the planet (half of
Victorians already know the last two points).
The biggest barriers to electrifying
- 95% of gas users are willing to consider switching one or two appliances, but currently 47% are not interested in disconnecting from gas completely.
- Younger people are more willing to consider changing from gas but are also more likely to be renters. People over 55 years are less willing.
- Only 25% of people replacing gas hot water systems went to electric, compared to 52% of those who changed their heating.
- Key reasons given for not switching away from gas included perceptions around gas being cheaper (46%), more reliable (36%), heat faster, the expense of upgrading, energy security and rental barriers (55% of landlords turned down energy efficiency improvement requests in 2023).
